Youm-e-Istehsal is being observed across Pakistan on Thursday (today) to express solidarity with the enslaved Kashmiri people on completion of two years of the military siege of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
On August 5, 2019, the world witnessed the abolition of the special constitutional status of IIOJ&K, which was scrapped by the Modi government and is marked as Youm-e-Istehsal.
A host of events have been arranged in order to denounce the Indian one-sided illegal actions against Kashmiri people as well as the atrocities being carried out by the Indian forces in IoJK.
The participants of the walk will wear black bands and carry the flags of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. One minute silence is to be observed across the country. Traffic is to be halted for one minute and sirens will be sounded.
Earlier, Radio Pakistan had released two short documentaries on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal that exposed the face of the Modi government.
PM Imran reiterates Pakistan’s commitment to Kashmir cause
Prime Minister Imran Khan on the occasion reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmir cause. The premier urged the international community and United Nations to hold India responsible for the atrocities against the people of Kashmir.
“Despite these brazen violations of all int laws, repeated HR violations, well documented by int media & HR orgs, & in the face of an unprecedented ruthless military siege the Kashmiri people remain undaunted in their struggle for self determination.”
PM Imran also criticised the Indian government and their policies. He said, “The Indian govt’s barbarism in IIOJK is inspired by its RSS Hindutva ideology. Today India is destroying regional stability through its rogue actions & state-sponsored terrorism in contravention of all international laws & norms.”
“India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019 and subsequent measures particularly pertaining to domicile rules and the land ownership laws are aimed at changing the demographic structure of IIOJK and converting the Kashmiris into a minority in their own land.
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Bajwa on the occasion said, “Continuation of inhuman military siege, machinations to bring demographic changes and gross violations of human rights and international laws are perpetuating humanitarian and security crises in IIOJ&K that imperil regional security,” according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
A rally was taken out to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir at the Foreign Office (FO). The rally was led by Federal Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. While speaking to the media FM Qureshi said that the Pakistani nation stands with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and they reject the illegitimate actions of India taken two years back.
“We will continue to support the just cause of Kashmiri people,” the FM said.
Federal Ministers Chaudhary Fawad Hussain, Shibli Faraz, Azam Swati and others also joined the rally.
The participants were carrying flags of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and were raising slogans in support of the people of the besieged valley.
