Pakistan administers 0.5m doses of COVID-19 vaccine on Monday: Asad Umar

Pakistan on Monday administered 525,000 doses of COVID-19, a new record. This was announced by the Federal Minister and head of the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). He said, “For the first time we crossed half a million doses of vaccination yesterday. 5 lakh 25 thousand doses were administered yesterday.”

In the last 24 hours, the country registered 21 fatalities due to COVID-19 while 1,590 people tested positive, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of July 13, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 39,644. On Monday, 43,790 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 15,342; Punjab: 16,470; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 7,062 Islamabad(ICT): 1,866; Balochistan: 1,657; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 670 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 723.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 215 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 914,605 recoveries.

A total of 976,867 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 21,250; Balochistan: 28,231; GB: 6,972; ICT: 83,831, KP: 139,593; Punjab: 348,509 and Sindh: 348,385.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 22,618 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,832 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,613 KP: 4,365; Islamabad: 785; Balochistan: 317; GB: 111 and AJK: 595.

639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,447 patients being treated across the country. A total of 15,152,403 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
