The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has sent a summary to the Petroleum Division seeking an increase of Rs5 per litre in the price of petrol.
According to reports, the regulatory authority sought an increase of Rs5 per litre in the price of petrol, Rs6 per litre each in the rates of high-speed diesel and light diesel oil, and Rs4.5 per litre for kerosene oil.
At present, petrol is being sold at Rs111.90 per litre, HSD at Rs116.07, LDO at Rs79.23, and kerosene oil at Rs80.19.
The final decision will be taken by the Petroleum Division in consultations with Prime Minister Imran Khan. The oil prices are revised every fortnight. The PM had refused to jack up the prices of the petroleum products last time, saying people must be provided relief.
Earlier, PM’s political communication aide, Shahbaz Gill, had said that the prices will remain same for the month of March.
