The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has authorized the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) to carry out inspections and testing of industrial and commercial gas meters, which will be carried out on the request of consumers.
All inspections in the future will be undertaken jointly by HDIP and the Sui Companies, a decision taken by OGRA in accordance with Natural Gas Measurement (Technical Standards) Regulations, 2019.
Both the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGCL) have been directed to coordinate with HDIP before initiating inspections, replacements or testing of meters carried out as per requests made by industrial and commercial consumers.
