Noor Mukadam’s father challenges suspect’s bail

Noor Mukadam’s father, Shoukat Ali Mukadam, filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking the cancellation of bail granted to the CEO of therapy works including 5 employees.

A sessions court in Islamabad Monday granted bail to six officials of Therapy Works, including its Chief Executive Officer Tahir Zahoor, in the Noor Mukadam murder case.

In his petition, Shoukat Mukadam said that the officials of Therapy Works were present when the gruesome murder occurred. The sessions court avoided the rules laid down by the Supreme Court when granting bail to the suspects, read the petition.

Noor Mukadam’s father also stated that he was being threatened by the Therapy Works CEO and employees.

He insisted that the the six suspected were accomplices and their bail would cause irreparable damage to the victim’s case.

On 15th August, six more people were arrested including the owner of Therapy Works, Dr Tahir, in the Noor murder case.

Zahir was not only a patient at Therapy Works but also worked there as a psycotherapist. The organization’s legitimacy has come under question after the incident. Therapy Works denied the allegations claiming that Zahir was never given permission to deal with clients as he had not passed level five of their course. But deleted pictures on instagram and patient testimonies refute the claim.

The six individuals were accused of concealing evidence of the crime after being contacted by Zahir’s father, Zakir Jaffer.

The accused were presented in Magistrate Shehzad Khan’s court, and were alowed a one-day physical remand.

Court rejects bail pleas of Zahir Jaffer’s parents

On August 5, the bail pleas of the parents of Zahir Jaffer, the main suspect in the Noor Mukadam murder case, had been rejected.

Zahir Jaffer’s father Zakir Jaffer and mother Asmat Adamjee had filed a bail application in a local court in Islamabad stating that they were not with their son and did not know that such a thing was happening at home. Which was incorrect, as Zahir’s phone records prooved that he was in consistent contact with both his parents prior to the murder.

They were chrged with aiding and abetting the culprit Zahir. The prosecutor added that “When the employee called, the act was happening but they sent therapists instead of the police. The pistol is also in the name of the suspect’s father Zakir Jaffer”.
