ISLAMABAD: A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday restored National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President Arif Usmani and Chairman NBP Zubair Soomro a week after their removal by an IHC judge.
The bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aamer Farooq heard appeals against the decision of the single-member bench.
On June 29, the president of the National Bank of Pakistan, Arif Usmani, and Board of Directors (BoD) Chairperson Zubair Somroo were removed by Justice Mohsin Akhter Kayani during a hearing on separate petitions challenging the appointment of the NBP bigwigs.
The petitions were filed by Syed Jahangir, Javed Iqbal, Faizal Raheem, and Latif Qureshi.
