NA session rescheduled, debate expected on TLP demands

Speaker Asad Qaiser has summoned an important session of the National Assembly today as the government is ready to table a resolution on the French ambassador’s expulsion. This development comes after the government’s negotiations with the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

The session is due to start at 3 pm. Earlier the session was scheduled for April 22, as the speaker had adjourned the session on Monday.

In today’s session, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) will table resolution for the expulsion of the French envoy and following this the Speaker will decide whether to hold voting immediately or allow a debate on the resolution.

Federal Minister for Interior, Sheikh Rasheed is to also likely brief the house on negotiations with the TLP.
