Maryam Nawaz, Bilawal Bhutto hold meeting in Gilgit-Baltistan

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday in Gilgit-Baltistan. The meeting was initiated in order to discuss the country’s current political scenario, especially with regard to the Army’s inquiry report on the Karachi incident released a day before.

This was followed by another delegation-level meeting between PPP and PML-N party leaders.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was represented by Senator Sherry Rehman and Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar while Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Pervaiz Rasheed, PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan president Hafiz Hafeezur-Rehman and party spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb represented PML-N in the meeting.

Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto are both staying in the same hotel, running election campaigns for upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan polls to be held on November 15.

In an address in Nagar Khas, a town in Gilgit, Maryam Nawaz accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of obsessively politically victimizing opposition leaders.

“The PTI government will soon be sent packing,” she said, claiming that the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) censors its opponents voices.

“The one sitting in prime minister’s chair thinks that there is no inflation in the country but the people of Pakistan are suffering due to this pressing issue. Nation is cursing Imran Khan for not taking care of poverty-stricken people.” she continued, adding that Imran Khan is surrounded by ‘corrupt leaders who are looting Pakistan’.
