Indian sponsored terrorists fire 23 rockets on Kabul, 8 killed, 31 injured

This morning, Kabul was hit by multiple rocket attacks. The Afghan Taliban denied involvement in this attack. Security officials said Indian sponsored terror outfits in Afghanistan were behind it.

Our correspondent who is Kabul, Anas Mallick, said that the city heard multiple blasts and ambulance sirens. He said police confirmed 23 rockets were fired from two vehicles. Police said 8 people killed and 31 injured. The Kabul police said the rockets hit various part of Kabul, some also crashing near the diplomatic enclave. According to Afghan Media, a mortar also hit the Vice President’s office.

After these attacks, the US embassy in Kabul issued a security alert. “The Department of State warns U.S. citizens against travel to Afghanistan. The security situation in Pakistan is extremely unstable and the threat to all U.S. citizens in Afghanistan remains critical,” the US Embassy stated in its security alert.

The Afghan Taliban have distanced themselves from the attack. “The firing of rockets in Kabul is not the work of the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate, we do not allow indiscriminate strikes in populated areas,” spokesman of Afghan Taliban Zabihullah tweeted today.

Analysts said anti-peace militants are attacking Kabul and other areas to sabotage Afghan peace efforts. Indian sponsored terrorists groups have been active in the region, they say. This attack has come just after the visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Pakistan and Afghanistan have signed new trade and investment deals this week.
