Pakistani actor Mahira Khan recently received the high achievers’ award at the Filmfare Middle East Achievers night held in Dubai.
The Aik Hai Nigar star stressed that art has no boundaries in her acceptance speech as she was honored by Filmfare Middle East with the high achievers’ award.
In her speech, Mahira said, “What is lovely about being here is that truly, truly, art transcends borders. I say this all the time. When I come here, I stand here wearing my country’s flag on my back, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate all the other people here, who I have admired so much, I look at and get inspired. So, this is for art and art alone, and for my country.”
The Filmfare Middle East Achievers was attended by Bollywood stars including Kajol and Nawazuddin Siddique along with Pakistani celebrities such as Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir amongst numerous others. The night united cinema’s finest. The ceremony was held at Dubai’s Meydan on October 28.
Sajal Aly was also honored at the ceremony where she expressed her gratitude at being able to attend a glamorous awards night on such a large scale after a long break due to the pandemic. Sajal adorned a nude-colored glittering skirt and top expressed her excitement to celebrate the best of talents from numerous countries.
