At least five people, including a child, have been injured in a bomb explosion on Quetta’s Qambrani Road on Monday.

According to rescue officials, all of the injured have been rushed to the Civil Hospital. Initial reports say the incendiary device used in the blast was locally made and was planted by the roadside.

After the blast, Frontier Corps and police officials cordoned off the area and started an investigation into the terror attack.

There have been multiple terror attacks in Quetta over the past few weeks. On May 10, two Frontier Corps personnel were injured in an explosion on Quetta’s Sariab Road. The bomb disposal squad had said that the blast occurred because of an IED that was installed near the roadside.

In another similar attack, the militants ambushed FC personnel deployed on security duty. Three soldiers had lost lives while one was injured, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said in a press release.

Last month, a TTP bomber had blown himself up in the parking lot of Quetta’s Serena Hotel. The government had said that the attack was meant to target the Chinese envoy, Nong Rong, who was staying at the hotel, while the Taliban claimed that it had targeted a high-level meeting of the state officials.
