First meeting of PDM to be held today at Fazlur Rehman house

ISLAMABAD– The first meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of the opposition parties, will be held at the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday.

The meeting will be chaired by PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman and will be attended by central leaders of PDM. According to sources consultations will be held regarding the protest movement against the government during the meeting.

The meeting will map out strategy for the first public meeting of PDM in Gujranwala which will be held on Friday. Sources said that the meeting will also review the matter of arrests of opposition parties workers before the October 16 rally in Gujranwala.

Sources also informed that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address at the PDM meeting is also expected via video link.
