A fire broke out at the Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo on Thursday, confirmed Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri.
The local fire fighting authorities were immediately called and the fire was controlled. There have been no major losses either of persons or property, he said, while responding to queries about the incident by reporters.
Meanwhile, the cause of the incident is being ascertained with the help of the local fire fighting authorities, he added.
Earlier, Japanese media reported that Tokyo’s fire department had received an emergency call, saying that fire had broken out at the Pakistan Embassy in the capital. It said that firefighters rushed to the spot. However, the media reports said it was unknown at this time if anyone was injured or the extent of damage caused by the fire.
