FIR lodged against Digitonics Lab for fraud

KARACHI: The Cybercrime Wing (CCW) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against eight people including owner Mohammad Burhan Mirza of Digitonics Lab, a software house for committing fraud with people and companies.

FIA raided the office of Digitonics Lab offices located in two separate buildings at Shahrah-e-Faisal Karachi and had seized the relevant records of the company on Monday-Tuesday night.

The FIA has arrested three accused persons including owner Mohammad Burhan Mirza and two other employees after thorough interrogations and they will be produced before the court today for physical remand, the inside sources disclosed.

According to the company’s sources, the FIA officials have sealed all floors of the building where the company’s employees were working. The FIR No 03/2021 has been registered against the company as the owners could not satisfy the FIA team regarding transactions received in their different banks’ accounts, the official claimed.

The company’s main task was to develop different software for markets in the United Kindgom, Dubai, and United States. For this purpose, it had hired thousands of workers who worked day and night in two separate buildings located at Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Sources state that the company has been earning foreign exchange worth millions of dollar through software exports since many years, and its main competitors was Exact Group, TRG, System Limited etc in Pakistan.

A few days back, the company also terminated some employees who were involved in defaming Digitonics Lab.
