Pakistan’s hard-hitting batsman Fakhar Zaman and speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi have risen to their career-best One-day International (ODI) rankings after a great series against South Africa.
The flashy left-hander Zaman has gained five positions to reach at seventh position from 11th while Afridi has gone to 11th from 15th. Fakhar Zaman was the top scorer in the series and amassed 294 runs which included two centuries.
On the other hand, Shaheen bagged six wickets in three matches at an average of 32.33.
In addition to this, Muhammad Nawaz has gone up by 29 places to reach the 96th position. For South Africa, newly appointed captain Temba Bavuma has moved two places up to 86th from 88th while Andile Phehlukwayo has jumped 11 places to reach 83rd.
In the T20 format, Pakistan’s Muhammad Rizwan has continued his upward journey and has jumped 24 places to reach 23rd position. Hasan Ali has reached 62nd place while all-rounder Muhammad Nawaz has gone to 28th from 36.
The T20I rankings update, carried out after the first two matches of the ongoing four-match series, also saw South Africa captain Heinrich Klaasen move up 38 places to 53rd position after scores of 56 and 36 not out while Aiden Markram has re-entered the rankings in 65th position after his two half-centuries.
Beuran Hendricks has progressed 44 places to 46th after a three-wicket haul in the first match.
