Facebook removes video of Trump’s interview from his daughter-in-law’s account

Facebook has removed a video that featured an interview with former President Donald Trump because it violated its current ban on him, said Trump’s daughter-in-law.

Lara, the wife of Eric Trump, posted on Instagram emails that she said were from Facebook. The message said Facebook “removed content from Lara Trump’s Facebook page that featured President Trump speaking. In line with the block we placed on Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, further content posted in the voice of Donald Trump will be removed and result in additional limitations on the accounts.”

Facebook, in the meanwhile, confirmed that it has removed the video.

The former president was initially banned from Facebook’s services the day after the deadly riot on January 6, fueled by his supporters following his false claims of election fraud.

The company has since maintained the ban and said it is referring the matter to its independent oversight board to recommend whether the suspension should be lifted. Twitter, on the other hand, has said its ban on Trump is permanent.
