Exports decreased by 4.5% for February, with an overall increase of 4.2% for FY20-21

ISLAMABAD: Exports in February registered a decline of 4.5%, however, the overall exports in the first 8 months of the fiscal year 20-21 (FY 20-21) saw an overall increase of 4.2%.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce & Investment Abdul Razak Dawood in a tweet said “Ministry of Commerce would like to share that, Alhamdolillah, for the 5th consecutive month, our exports have crossed the USD 2 billion mark. Our exports for Feb-2021 (28 days) stand at $2,044 million as compared to USD 2,140 million for Feb-2020 (29 days), a decline of 4.5%.  He further added, “For 8-months (Jul-Feb 2021) of the current financial year, our exports increased by 4.2% at $16.3 billion as compared to USD 15.6 billion during July-February 2020. We wish to congratulate our exporters for their hard work in earning the foreign exchange for the country and urge them to market their exports even more aggressively.”
