In a bid to stem the spread of COVID-19 in the province, the Punjab government has announced an extension in the lockdown till May 30.
A notification released by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department of the provincial government stated that the lockdown imposed throughout the province has been extended till May 30.
Pharmacies/ medical Stores and vaccination centers, petrol Pumps, tandoors, milk/ dairy shops, food takeaways and e-commerce (home delivery) utility services will remain open.
All business and markets can operate till 8 pm. All government and private offices will work with 50 per cent attendance. There shall be a complete ban on indoor and outdoor dining in the province. Only takeaway and delivery service will be allowed during the lockdown.
Punjab reports 1,073 new Covid-19 cases, 45 more deaths
The third wave of COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc in the biggest province of Pakistan. At least 1,073 new infections were recorded in Punjab during the past 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 325,662.
According to Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Care Department, at least 45 more patients succumbed to the pandemic as the total death count reached 9,367.
