Pakistan’s Covid-19 death toll on Sunday crossed 23,000 mark after 45 people succumbed to the deadly contagion in one day. In addition to this, 1,841 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.
As of July 25, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 55,720. On Saturday, 44,579 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 10,032; Punjab: 17,498; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 6,005 Islamabad(ICT): 1,500; Balochistan: 1,432; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 706 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 463.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 267 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 924,728 recoveries.
A total of 1,004,694 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 22,886; Balochistan: 29,494; GB: 7,702; ICT: 85,519, KP: 141,627; Punjab: 352,682 and Sindh: 364,784.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 22,971 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,939 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,814 KP: 4,417; Islamabad: 792; Balochistan: 322; GB: 122 and AJK: 610.
639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,944 patients being treated across the country. A total of 15,667,114 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
