In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 201 COVID-19 deaths, its highest single-day death toll since the start of the pandemic. Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Furthermore, 5,292 people tested positive, according to the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).
As of April 27, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 88,207. Yesterday, 49,101 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 14,465; Punjab:20,665; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP): 8,292; Islamabad(ICT): 3,812; Balochistan: 695; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 323 and Azad Kashmir(AJK): 849.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 644 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 704,494 recoveries.
A total of 814,231 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 16,779; Balochistan:21,945; GB:5,280; ICT: 74,131, KP:115,596; Punjab:296,144 and Sindh:280,356.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 17,530 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 8,224 casualties followed by Sindh:4,624; KP:3,201; Islamabad: 675; Balochistan: 233; GB: 105 and AJK: 468.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 6,286 patients being treated across the country. A total of 11,682,014 tests have been conducted so far.
