COVID-19 claims 82 more lives in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 2,184 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 82 people lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). The trend continued with Punjab reporting the most number of deaths in the country.

As of January 1, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 35,150. Yesterday, 38,299 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 11,771; Punjab: 15,528; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 5,985; Islamabad: 3,891; Balochistan: 340; Gilgit-Baltistan: 355 and Azad Kashmir: 305

Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 301 vents are currently occupied. There is no patient on the vent in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 484,362 cases have been detected so far in the country (AJK 8303, Balochistan 18181, GB 4862, ICT 38020, KPK 59023, Punjab 139341 and Sindh 216,632).

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 10,258 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4085 casualties followed by Sindh 3582, KPK: 1661; Islamabad: 421; Balochistan: 184; GB: 101 and AJK: 224.

625 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,745 patients being treated. So far, 418,958 people have recovered across Pakistan.
