The number of COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to rise in Punjab. In the last 24 hours, 597 new infections were reported while 57 people passed away due to this deadly virus. The provincial death toll has risen to 3,422.
According to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC), 2,549 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 73 lost their lives due to COVID-19.
As of December 15, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan now stand at 48,008. Yesterday, around 34,551 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 8,464; Punjab: 15,692; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,709; Islamabad: 4,771; Gilgit-Baltistan: 401; Balochistan: 183 and Azad Kashmir; 331
Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 323 are currently occupied. There is no patient on the vent in Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan.
A total of 443,246 cases have been detected so far (AJK 7750, Balochistan 17771, GB 4793, ICT 35045, KP 52787, Punjab 128138, Sindh 196962).
Till now, Pakistan has conducted 6,098,771 tests. Currently, 3,057 patients are being treated in 613 COVID-19 facilities in the country.
Pakistan has recorded 8,905 deaths thus far due to this deadly virus.
