Coronavirus: Pakistan reports below 4% positivity rate for 8th successive day

Coronavirus pandemic has further subsided in Pakistan as the country reported 35 deaths in the past 24 hours and a positivity rate of 3.26 percent.

The National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) data showed on Sunday morning that the country reported 1,656 COVID-19 infections during the last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally of confirmed cases to 1,249,858.

Meanwhile, with 35 more fatalities, the death toll from the virus jumped to 27,866.

Pakistan reported a daily case count of less than 2,000 for the eighth successive day on Sunday (today). Moreover, the country reported a positivity rate below 4 percent for the eighth straight day. 

During the last week, Pakistan administered an average 725,632 doses of the coronavirus vaccine daily. At that rate, it will take a further 60 days to administer enough doses for another 10 percent of the population.
