In a bid to expand coronavirus vaccination drive, the government has decided to vaccinate youth of 15 years of age and above.
It is learnt that the vaccination drive for the 15 to 18 years olds will begin from September 13 (Monday) and they will be administered Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine.
The vaccination drive is being launched after the National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) approval.
The federal government had earlier disclosed its plan to begin vaccination of people aged below 18 in the country.
“In the first phase, vaccination will be approved for people in the age bracket of 15 and 18 while in the second phase, people aged between 12 and 15 will be inoculated,” ARY News quoted insiders as saying.
NADRA has also been consulted on how the process could be facilitated, it reported.
