In a positive development, Pakistan’s Chughtai Lab is all set to receive Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine for commercial use. This announcement was made by Omar Chughtai, director Chughtai Lab on his Twitter account. He said, “At Chughtai Lab we are expecting our first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine Insha Allah within the next 1-2 weeks.”
Russia’s state-owned Sputnik-V company filed an application with DRAP in January, seeking permission for emergency use of its vaccine in Pakistan.
The vaccine has also been approved for usage in Hungary, Algeria, Bolivia, Serbia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), among other countries. Its efficacy rate is 92%.
