Chinese envoy meets Zardari and Bilawal, recalls Bhutto family contribution to Pakistan-China ties

China Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong on Tuesday called on the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership, including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari.

In a tweet shared by the Chinese envoy, Nong “cordially recalled the great contribution of [the] Bhutto family” to cement ties between the two states.

PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari shared the tweet with gratitude. The PPP chairperson said the Chinese Communist Party and the PPP “share a relationship that spans 3 generations”. He said he looked forward to continuing working with China towards a “bright future for both our great nations”.

The ambassador also met Sindh Chief Minister and PPP leader Syed Murad Ali Shah. The envoy appreciated the commitment of the Sindh government to China’s “all dimensional cooperation, including CPEC”.
