Cabinet okays appointment of Punjab chief secretary, IGP

The federal cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr Kamran Ali Fazal as the new Punjab chief secretary.

It is learnt that cabinet also approved the appointment of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) director-general additional IGP Rao Sardar Ali Khan as the Inspector General of Punjab police (IGP).

Dr Kamran is replacing Jawad Rafique Malik and Rao Sardar is taking charge from IGP Inam Ghani.

The appointments were made based on a summary forwarded to the cabinet by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

The appointments were made by Prime Minister Imran Khan in consultation with Chief Minister Buzdar.

IGP Inam Ghani has been posted as IG Railway Police while Jawad Malik has been posted as Secretary at the Industries and Production Division.
