Bob Dylan denies sexually abusing girl in 1965

Legendary US singer-songwriter Bob Dylan has denied the sexual abuse allegations dating back to 1965. Dylan’s spokesman said, “the 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”

The Connecticut-based accuser – who is only identified by her initials, J.C – filed the lawsuit last Friday with the New York Supreme Court under the state’s Child Victims Act.

The lawsuit alleges that Dylan, who is now 80 years old, “exploited his status as a musician to provide (the plaintiff) with alcohol and drugs and sexually abuse her multiple times”.

The lawsuit says the abuse took place at Dylan’s apartment in New York’s Chelsea Hotel when the accuser was 12-years old.
She is seeking unspecified damages alleging the singer had caused her “severe psychological damage and emotional trauma”, and.

Born Robert Allen Zimmerman, Dylan has sold more than 125 million albums around the world during a career spanning six decades. He was given the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016, becoming the first songwriter to win the prestigious award.
