Bilawal Bhutto alleges his ‘election has been stolen’

Following the results of the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) elections, Bilawal Bhutto claimed that his ‘election has been stolen’, adding that he would join the people of GB in their protest.

According to unofficial results, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) is in the lead for the Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly elections, with its victory in 8 out of 23 constituencies.

Opposition parties Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) have accused election authorities of rigging results while Gilgit-Baltistan’s Chief Election Commissioner, Raja Shehbaz Khan has denied all allegations.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz also previously expressed outrage over election results, stating that ‘There is prepoll rigging all around.’

PPP’s senator Sherry Rehman, too, said that certain election observers had not been allowed to oversee the elections.

“There were more than 600 members of the Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) monitoring the elections, but some have been removed from the polling stations,” she previously stated.
