Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari tested positive for COVID-19 on April 2. In a post on Twitter, Benazir Bhutto’s daughter revealed that she contracted the virus five days ago and is currently “isolating and recovering”.
Bakhtawar, the eldest daughter of former President Asif Zardari, urged people to remain cautious and to follow safety protocols.
“Just a reminder to keep being cautious, call people out if their masks don’t cover their nose, get vaccinated and help those less fortunate to get vaccinated too. May Allah keep us all safe,” the post read.
Earlier this year, Bakhtawar Bhutto got married to Mahmood Choudhry, the son of prominent businessman Younas Choudhry.
Pakistan has been grappling with the raging third wave of the virus as cases have crossed 4,000. The country recorded over 100 single-day deaths for the third consecutive day today.
