Saud Shakeel has been withdrawn from Pakistan’s ODI squad for the South African tour after he suffered a Grade-1 quadriceps tear in his left leg. He has been replaced by Asif Ali in the squad.
The left-hander suffered this injury during the intra-squad practice game on Wednesday at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Due to bio-bubble restrictions, the selection committee didn’t name any other player and added Asif Ali who is already part of the T20 side into the ODI squad.
Pakistan is due to play three ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches and four T20Is against South Africa. The side will then leave for Zimbabwe where they are scheduled to play three T20Is and two tests.
