An eight-year-old girl in Soomar Goth was kidnapped and raped allegedly by her 20-year-old neighbour on Saturday.
A police officer said that a call from a man was received who informed about the presence of a minor girl near Ayesha Masjid.
The girl was rescued by the police and the boy who had kidnapped her had fled. It was later reported by the hospital officials that the girl was brutally raped and molested.
However, the police claimed that they have arrested the suspect and booked him on the complaint of the victim’s family.
The kidnapped girl was transferred to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for her medical inspection.
Additional Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed said that the minor girl was horribly raped and was subjected to a violent sexual assault as there were several injuries on her body.
SSP Imran Bahadur said that the suspect caught was her neighbour. He added that she was sleeping on the roof with her father when the kidnapper abducted her on Saturday morning and took her to a nearby plot where he rapped her.
