Zahir Jaffer, his parents and all suspects were put on the Exit Control List (ECL) on Monday informed Sheikh Rashid.
The prime accused Zahir and his parents are dual nationals of America. This no-fly ban prevents them from escaping the country to evade trial.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamilur Rehman had instructed his team to seek the placement of Zahir Jaffer’s name on the Exit Control List.
The US embassy established that it would not interfere in Zahir’s case. Zahir is to be trialed as per Pakistan’s law, where the crime took place. The no-fly ban is an additional precaution to ensure the smooth running of the trial.
Noor mukadam, the daughter of a Pakistani Diplomat was found murdered and beheaded in Islamabad on JUly 20th. The suspect Zahir Zakir Jaffer, was put on trial under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
