Adele, on Wednesday, made the announcement of her upcoming album, 30. The Grammy-winning artist took to social media and shared in her caption the inspiration behind the album after a six-year hiatus. She said she has come a long way from how she felt when she first started working on the album when she was 30, three years ago.

The Hello crooner posted a picture which could be her album cover and wrote, “I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago. Quite the opposite actually.” She further added, “I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly – willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”

Adele shared, “I have learned a lot of blistering truths about myself along the way. I have shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I have finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I have never felt more peaceful in my life.”

The singer mentioned a special friend. “That friend who, no matter what, checked in on me even though I’d stopped checking in with them because I’d become so consumed by my own grief. Adele ended the caption with, “Home is where the heart is x.”

The British artist last week, teased her first new music since her 2015 Grammy Award-winning album 25, with a video clip for the song Easy On Me.

In the video clip, the Someone Like You songstress is seen in a car, inserting a tape into a cassette player, looking into the rearview mirror, turning the volume up, and then driving off in a car carrying packed up belongings. Soft piano music plays in the background as sheets of music fly out of the window.

Adele shared details of her upcoming album in an interview with Vogue. Answering a question about what the 33-year-old heartbreak queen is delivering this time, she said, “I feel like this album is self-destruction, then self-reflection and then sort of self-redemption. But I feel ready. I really want people to hear my side of the story this time.”
