The wife of slain Priyantha Kumara, who was working as a manager at a private factory in Sialkot, Diyawadana Priyantha, has pleaded for justice for her husband from leaders of both the countries, Sri Lankan news outlet Newswire reported.
“I got to know about the brutal murder of my husband from the news. Later, I saw this on the internet as well. He was a very innocent man,” she told BBC Sinhala.
“I request leaders of Sri Lanka and Pakistan to do justice for my husband and two children, by bringing the perpetrators to justice,” she went on to say.
Priyantha had been working in a Sialkot factory since 2012. He was lynched on Friday by a mob after being accused of blasphemy. Later, his body was dragged outside the factory and set on fire.
ARRESTS: Police on Saturday said they had rounded up around 120 suspects for the lynching of Priyantha Kumara.
At least 900 people have been booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act, the Ugoki police station SHO confirmed.
The Gujranwala regional police officer (RPO) monitored the raids till late night and the body of the victim was shifted to Lahore where it would be handed over to the high commission.
