Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Saturday said that the anti-coronavirus vaccination for age group 50 to 59 years will start from April 21.

In a tweet, the planning minister, who also headed the National Command and Operation Centre, said that “the decision was taken in the National Command and Operation Center meeting on Saturday.

He said the NCOC has decided to start vaccination of people in the age group of 50 to 59 from Wednesday.

Asad Umar called upon the people to get registered for the vaccination. “[I] would once again encourage everyone to register for the vaccination,” he added.

Pakistan has reported 112 deaths and 4,976 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours whereas the number of critical patients across the country is still above 4,000.

At least 4,149 patients across the country are in critical condition, including 520 people who are on ventilators, according to the NCOC.
