Rafique Chandio, who engaged in necrophilia with a teenage girl’s dead body after digging it up, was killed in a police encounter during the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to the FIR lodged against the suspect, he allegedly had a ‘notorious’ background of selling moonshine liquor and molesting children.
The police traced the suspect and took him into custody within a few hours. According to the police, the suspect was “identified by the gravedigger in his statement” to the police while his ring – found on the scene – also tied him to the crime.
At around 1:30am on Sunday, a day after the arrest, Chandio was killed in an encounter in the jurisdiction of Gharo police station.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah ordered the police to show no mercy to the culprits involved in crimes against women, children and minorities.
The CM has also ordered the Sindh police to step up operations against the drugs mafia across the province.
