At least two soldiers were martyred on Wednesday after militants from Afghanistan attacked a Pakistan Army’s check post in North Waziristan’s Dwatoi area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
During the exchange of fire, two soldiers, Havaldar Saleem, 43, and Lance Naik Pervaiz, 35, embraced martyrdom, said ISPR, adding that the troops responded to the attack in a “befitting manner”.
“Pakistan has consistently been asking Afghanistan to ensure effective border control on their side. Pakistan strongly condemns the continuous use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan,” the press release added.
