Three security force members, including an officer, were killed while seven injured in a Black Hawk helicopter crash in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province on Wednesday evening, head of provincial council Attaullah Afghan said on Thursday.
The helicopter, which took off from Gereshk district, crash landed in Nahre Siraj district due to technical issue, he said.
Mohamamd Wali Haqmal, an officer who was going to his home in Lashkargah on leave, lost his life in the incident, say sources.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD), in a statement on Thursday, denied the Taliban’s claim that it shot down the helicopter.
The statement confirmed three security force members – two national police and one ANA soldier – were killed.
