The Taliban have reportedly captured the Indian consulate in the Afghan city of Kandahar.
A video posted on social media claimed to be that of the Taliban occupying the Indian consulate.
In the video, gun wielding men, said to be the Taliban, can be seen going to different parts of a building.
The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had a day earlier said that the Indian officials of the consulate have been recalled and the local staff is still working to facilitate visa seekers.
Ministry spokesman Arndam Baghchi said “the return of staff was a temporary measure until conditions improved, but local staff at the Kandahar consulate would continue to work.”
