Opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly and ruling Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) leader Haleem Adil Sheikh was released on Saturday on bail after spending two months in jail.

The Sindh High Court granted Haleem bail against two surety bonds in two cases and released from Jinnah Hospital where he was languishing on medical grounds.

After his release, He said he would first go to the jail to meet his four workers who have not yet granted bail.

Haleem Sheikh was arrested on February 16 for carrying weapons during the by-elections in Karachi and for interfering with an operation against encroachments.

The case related to the PS 88 by-elections was registered for his alleged involvement in a brawl that took place between the PPP and the PTI workers. The case against the Sindh opposition leader was filed at the Memon Goth police station in District Malir.

The other case related to impeding an anti-encroachment operation.
