Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday suspended a session court order that directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to register an FIR against Babar Azam and two women for allegedly blackmailing and harassing Hamiza Mukhtar.
Babar Azam’s lawyer said that the session court’s decision to file a case against Babar Azam is against the Cyber Crime Rules 2018 and should be suspended till the final verdict is announced.
On Thursday, Judge Hamid Hussain, in his order, directed the respondent FIA to proceed further with respect to registration of the FIR against the culprits within the stipulated time following legal formalities.
The court approved Babar Azam’s request.
