On Thursday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the schedule for the Senate elections.
According to ECP, polling to elect senators will be held on March 3 whereas nomination papers can be submitted from February 12-13 and their scrutiny will be completed by February 16.
Furthermore, applications against the acceptance or rejection of the nominations papers will be accepted till February 18. The ECP will finalise the lists of the candidates on February 21.
According to ECP, two senators will be elected from Islamabad, 12 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan each, and 11 each from Sindh and Punjab.
