A high-value terrorist commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Nooristan alias Hasan Baba has been killed in an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on a terrorist hideout in Sharmangi, Tiarza, in South Waziristan upon confirmation of the terrorist’s presence. During an exchange of fire, a high-value target, terrorist commander of TTP Nooristan alias Hasan Baba was killed. The most wanted terrorist was an improvised explosive devise (IED) expert and master trainer, who was involved in the martyrdom of more than 50 security forces’ personnel since 2007.
Terrorist commander Nooristan joined TTP Baitullah Mehsud group in 2007. In 2008, he along with other associates carried out an attack on Manra Shawal Dargai check-post where he assassinated 3 Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers. In July-Aug 2009, he planted an IED in village Punch Goonay Khaisura area resulting in 5 casualties to security forces.
On June 7, 2009, he along with his associates carried out a rocket attack on Shakai camp resulting in the martyrdom of 7 soldiers, and the destruction of an oil tanker. In June 2009, during Khaisura clearance, his resistance led to the martyrdom of 12 soldiers.
In January-February 2010, Nooristan was involved in water poisoning near the Army post at Khaisura. In 2010, he planted an IED for Inzar-Shakai-Wana road, resulting in the martyrdom of 2 soldiers. The same year, he was involved in an attack on an Army Quick Reaction Force (QRF) on Khaisura-Taiarza-Wana road, resulting in 6 soldiers being martyred.
In March-April 2011, he planted an IED and attacked an FC convoy near Nano Khel School, Khaisura Tehsil, Tairza resulting in 3 soldiers being martyred. He was made the terrorist commander of Khaisura area in 2016.
