KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will announce its Monetary Policy for the next two months today.

The meeting of the monetary policy committee (MPC) of the central bank is currently underway at SBP to decide about the policy rates for the next two months. It will issue the Monetary Policy Statement through a press release.

According to the market analysts, the SBP will maintain the policy rates at 7 percent.

In the last meeting of the MPC, the central bank had decided against changing the interest rate from seven percent for the next two months.

The SBP had further said that the rate of inflation would remain between seven to nine percent during the ongoing fiscal year. “Most of the economic indicators are getting improved,” it said adding that large-scale manufacturing has also witnessed positive growth.

The majority of the analysts expect that the country’s GDP growth to clock in between 3.0 percent to 4 percent during the fiscal year 2020-21.
