The Taliban say that they have the right to raise our voice over Muslim’s rights abuses in Kashmir, India, and any other country.
In an interview with BBC, the Taliban spokesperson Suhail Shaheen said that they will raise their voice for their Muslim brethren in other countries. Shaheen said that the Muslim population living in other countries are entitled to equal rights under respective laws as any other citizen.
Shaheen said that the Taliban will not raise arms against any country. He said that the Taliban stand by their commitment to not let anyone use Afghanistan’s soil against any country.
Earlier, in an interview with a Pakistani media house, Shaheen warned the United States against may future attack saying the Americans “have no right to attack” Afghanistan after August 31, the US troops withdrawal date, which has been completed. He said that the Taliban will not tolerate US attacks under their regime, with or without consent.
Shaheen’s comments come after the Taliban met with the Indian diplomatic personnel in Doha to discuss safe passage for the Indian nationals and Afghan nationals.
In the past, the Taliban have expressed concerns regarding Human Rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir but Shaheen’s comments about Kashmir contradict the group’s earlier comments regarding the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Since the Taliban took power, they have maintained that the Kashmir issue is a “bilateral matter.” In an interview with CNN News18, Taliban leader Anas Haqqani said, “Kashmir is not part of our jurisdiction and interference is against the policy. How can we do against our policy?”
