Rashid Khan heroics with the bat in the final over helped Lahore Qalandars beat two-time champions Islamabad United by 5 wickets in the PSL6 second leg at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday night.
Qalandars required 16 runs off the last over and it was Rashid Khan who came to rescue his team and struck Hussain Talat for three boundaries in three balls, followed by a single and double to score 15 runs single-handedly. Tim David also took responsibility and scored 23 runs laced with a boundary and a six.
Earlier, Islamabad United was put in to bat and set a 144-run target for Lahore Qalandars. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf was the only one to score 20 runs.
Islamabad United batsmen Colin Munro and Usman Khawaja opened for United. James Faulkner took three important wickets, Haris Rauf and Ahmed Daniyal bagged two each. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Rashid Khan were able to pick a wicket each.
The Qalandars were able to keep their blowing and fielding tight as they were able to restrict United to a struggling 143.
