Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said on Monday that the suicide bomber who targeted the Frontier Constabulary (FC) check post on Sunday, had arrived from Afghanistan.
Four FC personnel were martyred and 19 others were injured in the suicide attack on Mustang Road.
“The terrorists involved in Quetta and Gwadar blasts were both from Afghanistan,” Rashid said during a press conference in Islamabad.
Both the terrorists have been identified, he added.
Rashid lashed out at India, saying that it has been defeated in Afghanistan and that it is the “only country in the region that has faced humiliation repeatedly.”
The minister rejected speculation of the presence of any refugee camp in Pakistan for Afghans, saying that such claims are “absolutely false” and part of “India’s baseless propaganda.”
“We have assured Afghanistan that our land will not be used against them,” he noted, adding that he will discuss the issue in detail once the Taliban form their government in Afghanistan.
He said that Afghanistan has also vowed not to let anyone use its territory against foreign countries.
The interior minister also shed light on other issues and said that the issue of the Chaman border would be resolved by September 12.
Answering a question about Pakistan’s internal politics, he said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, and Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman’s politics have “come to an end.”
