The Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council has announced that the third Quaid-e-Azam Trophy has been canceled due to coronavirus pandemic.
According to a statement issued by a PWCC spokesperson, due to the current Covid-19 situation and financial constraints, the council has decided to postpone the event this year.
He said the High Performance Camp and Intra Squad T20 and ODI matches would be held according to schedule.
The PWCC would now focus on the second edition of Pakistan Champions League and a training camp will start in September, he added.
The Champions League will be played in January next year and five teams will participate in it. For the first time international wheelchair cricketers will also participate in the League, the spokesperson said.
He said the organising committee wants to hold the Champions League outside the country. A formal announcement will be made after all financial matters are finalised, he concluded.
