In the last 24 hours, 2,408 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 41 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Punjab reported the highest number of fatalities with 25.
As of January 11, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 34,007. Yesterday, 40,008 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 14,137; Punjab: 14,499; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 5,001; Islamabad: 5,277; Balochistan: 574; Gilgit-Baltistan: 367 and Azad Kashmir: 233.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 320 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 506,701 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,501; Balochistan: 18,429; GB: 4,882, ICT: 39,340, KPK: 61,648; Punjab: 146,016 and Sindh: 227,885.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 10,717 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,299 casualties followed by Sindh: 3,708, KPK: 1,743; Islamabad: 443; Balochistan: 188; GB: 101 and AJK: 235.
630 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,843 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,162,626 tests.
